SELOs 1.3.1-1.3.5 covering Tanzanian health system structure, global models, Universal Health Coverage and the UHI Act 2023, public and private insurance schemes, and health system strengthening.
Health Information Management introduces learners to the principles, systems, and ethical practice of managing health information in health facilities and insurance settings. Through case studies, ICD-10/ICD-11 coding practice, DHIS2 reporting tasks, data quality audits, and EHR exercises, learners develop the practical competencies of a Health Records Officer, Claims Officer, HMIS Focal Person, or EHR Implementation Officer.
Insurance Operations introduces learners to the operational practice of running insurance services in Tanzania. Through simulated workflows, Tanzanian-context case studies, customer service role-plays, operational audits, and performance management exercises, learners develop the practical competencies expected of an Operations Officer, Customer Service Officer, Claims Administrator, or Compliance Officer in a Tanzanian insurance organisation. Clinical Science Foundations introduces learners to the clinical foundation that supports professional work in health insurance, claims adjudication, clinical coding, and records management. Through annotated clinical document exercises, case studies, laboratory result interpretation tasks, and disease classification practice, learners develop fluency in reading clinical documentation.
Digital Literacy and ICT introduces learners to the digital literacy and ICT competencies required for modern health insurance practice anywhere in the world. Through hands-on practical exercises, software demonstrations, and globally-framed case studies, learners develop fluency in document production, internet research and email, spreadsheet construction, and cybersecurity awareness.
